Endoscopic Brow Lift

An endoscopic brow lift procedure performed at our Toronto office typically lasts between one and two hours, depending on the amount of correction that is needed. The surgery can be conducted on an outpatient basis in one of our office’s private surgical rooms or in a hospital under local anesthesia. Brow lift surgery is often combined with a facelift or blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) to achieve more dramatic results.

In an endoscopic brow lift, the surgeon uses a tiny camera inserted through an incision in the skin to view the work being done, allowing the procedure to be performed with minimal incisions or lifting of the skin. This gentleness greatly reduces swelling and shortens recovery times.

While post-surgical complications from a brow lift are rare – occurring in less than 1 percent of procedures – some patients may experience nerve damage affecting movement of the eyebrows that requires additional surgery to restore full movement. Also, visible scarring may occur, particularly with open brow lift surgery.

Brow lift patients typically are between the ages of 40 and 60 and want to reduce the visible effects of aging, but many younger people who have developed facial lines as a result of stress, trauma, or repeated muscle movement may find that the procedure is helpful in restoring an appearance that is more in keeping with their youth.
