Tummy Tuck Procedure

In abdominoplasty, pockets of extra skin and fat are removed from the middle and lower abdomen. The muscles of the abdominal wall are then tightened. At the same time, sometimes liposuction is performed to contour the "love handle" areas. The end result is a slimmer and more contoured abdominal appearance.

It should be noted that not all tummy tucks are the same. While a full tummy tuck generally focuses on the middle and lower abdomen, a mini tummy tuck, also called partial abdominoplasty, targets just the area of the lower abdomen and is therefore much less invasive and time-consuming than a full tummy tuck.
