Endoscopic Facelift – Toronto and North York Plastic Surgery

Endoscopic facelift, offered in the Toronto and North York area by Dr. Sean Brian Rice, is a revolutionary procedure that can effectively treat some of the common signs of aging. Over the years, the skin on our necks and faces can loosen and begin to droop, mostly due to the effects of gravity, sunlight, and stress. When this happens, deep creases can appear in the skin around the nose and mouth, while the skin around the jawline can begin to sag. Fatty deposits and loose skin may also gather around the neck. Overall, the result is an older, less attractive appearance that many patients want to change.

Endoscopic Facelift

The endoscopic facelift, performed at our Toronto office near North York, is an increasingly popular procedure, largely because it is generally less invasive than other types of facelift surgery, resulting in significantly fewer visible scars, a quicker recovery, and fewer risks. Endoscopic facelift is often called “scarless facelift” because, rather than using longer incisions in the skin of the face and neck, it involves only about three one-inch-long incisions in the skin. The incisions can usually be made in the skin above the hairline or behind the ears, allowing them to remain virtually out of view.

Through one of the incisions, Dr. Sean Brian Rice inserts a thin wand holding a tiny camera, which allows him to view the surgical area on a video monitor without having to pull back or remove as much skin. Small surgical instruments are then inserted through the other incisions and are used to remove excess fat and tissue beneath the skin while reshaping and toning the area.

Cutting-edge endoscopic facelift technology gives patients who visit our office serving the Toronto and North York area the option of having a refreshed, youthful, and firm appearance. Contact our office today to discuss what it can do for you.

Other Facelift Procedures

While a facelift is not a cure for the aging process, this commonly performed procedure can effectively undo much of the damage that has occurred and leave the patient with a refreshed, younger and healthier facial appearance. Dr. Sean Brian Rice performs midface and standard facelift surgery in addition to endoscopic facelift surgery at his office serving the greater Toronto and North York area. After an initial consultation and evaluation of your face, including its skin and bone structure, and a check for any existing medical conditions, Dr. Rice will recommend which facelift procedure would be best for you.

A midface lift is conducted by making several small, deep incisions in the skin and muscle tissue of the face, allowing the surgeon to reach beneath the skin to tighten and reposition the tissues in the area. Any loose fat and skin are removed before the incisions are sealed up. The midface procedure is more focused on one area and less invasive than a standard (or plane face) facelift, so most midface lift patients recover faster and with less bruising and swelling than standard facelift patients.

A standard facelift, sometimes called a “full facelift,” combines a lower facelift, a midface lift, and a brow lift to rejuvenate the entire face from forehead to neck, an area of the body that frequently shows signs of aging. A standard facelift is generally more involved than a midface technique and does not usually employ endoscopic methods designed to reduce swelling and shorten recovery times.
